First, Introductions...

Hi there, I'm Hilary! I’m an interior designer from Boston, MA.  I’ve worked in the field for 15 years and  I'm on a mission to help homeowners create and enjoy more beautiful renovation projects.

I earned a certificate in Decorative Arts from Boston Architectural College, and I spent the majority of my career as a trainer in furniture stores, teaching associate teams how to make interior design easy for customers. During my career my husband and I began our own home renovation projects. We spent less than $10,000 renovating the kitchen and bathroom of our small first apartment, and sold it for 40% more than we purchased it for two years later. We next purchased our dream home, a fixer-upper with a lot of potential. After completely re-imagining the first floor kitchen and creating a smart design using attic space to add a bedroom and two bathrooms, our house recently appraised for nearly double what we paid for it. And the best part about our investment is that we get to live in and enjoy it every day.

The last three years I have worked as a tile designer along with running my own business, and I love the individuality, surprise and beauty you can bring to kitchen and bathroom projects when you thoughtfully use this material. I believe there are four keys steps to creating beautiful interior design: layout, look, materials and design details. I work through my blog, Facebook group and courses to share what I have learned so that you can enjoy less stressful and more beautiful home renovations.

When you go into a renovation project, the first and most important step is to create the floorplan.

I believe that good interior design starts with a functional floorplan and is brought to life through an understanding of design details.  It is so tempting to try and fix the look of a room by just updating the finishes, but the true problem often is the "bones", the layout.  I have found that by first drafting floorplan ideas, you will be able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with your contractor for results that are a true transformation.

I would love to share my proven strategy for solving the layout for your bathroom renovation project so that you can move to the next phase of your design process.  Enter your email below and I will send it right to you!
